Juliana Jackson
designer
new to architrave p.c., architects
Juliana joins architrave after living, studying, and working in places ranging from LA to NYC and D.C. to Italy. One constant thread in her life has been her appreciation for each place's unique architecture and how it relates to their history and culture. Her love of historic architecture stems from a desire to preserve cultures, ensure the continuity of key historical buildings, and reduce the environmental impact of construction industries by reusing instead of building new. Juliana's graduate thesis, "Quaking in the Boot: Approaches to Seismic-Resistant Design in Historic Northern Italian Architecture", proposed combining historic vernacular and modern construction methods and materials to prevent earthquake-related damage in existing structures. Her undergraduate thesis explored how archaeological explorations of Ancient Roman ruins impacted Renaissance garden designs. When she is not working, Juliana can be found reading fantasy novels, cooking homemade pasta, and playing with any dog she can find.
